Lost Dog Dance

Arts-reach event

Tickets from:
Deb Childs - 01935 891744 or Halstock Community Shop
£9 adults, £6 under 18's, £25 for family
Bar - Teas - Coffee - Light supper (ordered in advance)

Lost Dog’s new show reveals the real story of Romeo and Juliet. It turns out they didn’t die in a tragic misunderstanding, they grew up and lived happily ever after.

Well they lived at least.

Now they’re 40ish, at least one of them is in the grips of a mid-life crisis, they feel constantly mocked by their teenage selves and haunted by the pressures of being the poster couple for romantic love. They have decided to confront their current struggles by putting on a performance – about themselves. Their therapist told them it was a terrible idea.

With Lost Dog’s blend of dance, theatre and comedy this duet takes on our cultural obsession with youth and our inevitable issues with longevity.

Juliet and Romeo opened with a three week London run split between Battersea Arts Centre and The Place which coincided with Valentine’s Day 2018. The work will tour in Autumn 2018 and Spring 2019.

Age recommendation: 13+

The Fox Inn Corscombe - 6pm to 8pm

This is open to everyone who lives in the village, male or female, as long as they are over 18

You do not have to spend the whole two hours at the pub - just come and go as you please. Also, you can have supper there afterwards

We can use the bar on the left of the entrance as usually quiet

Contact John Bright, Russell House, for more information

Shed Talk
Sharing food ...... talking together ..... learning Jesus

Shed Talk is a group of men who meet weekly on
Wednesdays at 7.15pm at the Fox Inn, Corscombe.

We discuss various issues of the day over a pint and a light meal. The topics are varied and range from male characters in the bible to current issues, such as the problems faced with re-housing the influx of migrants. There is no fixed agenda and any item is up for discussion.

Whether you are a regular church- goer, or just on the fringe or merely interested, you are more than welcome to come along and join us. If you would like more information or to book a place, contact Andrew Tomkins - 01935 891083

In part the name dervies from a radio programme. ShedTalk is a series of devotional thoughts and discussion programmes by men for men. Hosted by Carl Beech and friends, their aim is to help men get to know Jesus better and bring their friends to faith. Sunday at 9pm on Premier Christian Radio.

(Carl is an Elim minister and heads up Christian Vision for Men (CVM), a movementfocussed on evangelising to men)
